Mulberry Schools Trust present…

Global Girl Leading
A Celebration for International Day of the Girl

Friday 9th October 2020
Online Event – 8.45am to 3.30pm (British Summer Time)

On Friday 9th October, Mulberry School for Girls is hosting their Global Girl Leading online conference celebrating the International Day of the Girl 2020. We are also delighted to have our friends at WOW – Women of the World join us on such a significant occasion.  Now in its 8th year, International Day of the Girl ‘aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights’.

The event will bring students together from across the world to address these aims in a truly global way. We want to celebrate the progress that has been made so far, and stand shoulder to shoulder to face future challenges that may lie ahead.

Students will have the opportunity to hear from trailblazers in a variety of sectors, as well as having the chance to take part in interactive activities and sessions related to activism.

The aims of ‘Global Girl Leading’ are:

  • Raising awareness: to raise awareness of the intersectional challenges girls across the world face, in a safe forum for discussion.
  • Developing leadership: developing leadership skills of girls, by providing a platform for young women to make their voices heard.
  • Inspiring the future: by creating a forum for young women to hear from current trailblazers in their respective fields.
  • Exploration and innovation: improving the advocacy skills of girls and young women, so that they can truly become global citizens, developing their activism and speaking up for those who are most marginalised.
